Now think about this... After pondering the two scenarios above, why is it we never give any thought to cleaning our or our children’s athletic equipment or gear that collect potentially the most harmful organisms. Or maybe we think about it after we’ve heard of those nasty stories about an athlete who contracted a rash, staph infection or even worse Community Acquired Methicillin-Resistant Stapylococcus Aureus or what we commonly know today to be… MRSA.

In reality, the need to have this done had not been as serious until recent years when MRSA took the spotlight and began to take not only fingers, hands, toes, feet and complete limbs of young high school and college athletes but even worse, their lives as well.

In addition we began to hear more and more about high profile athletes in the NFL and NHL who were battling infection and illness that entered their bodies through their equipment which was a breeding ground for germs and bacteria.

Our children, both young and old, may wear the same equipment day in and day out during their season that lasts several months. Even though we take showers daily, wear clean clothes daily and reach for the hand sanitizer and anti-bacterial soap many times a day, we never give any thought to cleaning that smelly, filthy, germ infested gear that rests against our bodies just waiting to find a way to infect us. We’re lucky if we even take the time to air out the equipment.

What causes the infection in the body are the sweat, blood, mucus, fungus, mold and bacteria which forms deep within the equipment and enters the body through cuts, cracks and abrasions in the skin. The horrific odor produced by the gear is a by-product of the germs living in it. This is the tell-tale sign, the odor, that germs have infested the equipment and needs to be cleaned and sanitized at once.

That’s where Clean Gear of Connecticut comes in. Utilizing the exclusive and patented "Esporta Washer/Dryer/Extractor" cleaning system, Clean Gear uses environmentally friendly, bio-degradable detergents and disinfectants to clean deep into the gear to remove harmful bacteria, mold, yeast, blood and fungus that can become a serious health threat.

Our state-of-the-art cleaning system has been independently tested by world leading organizations that provide proof that our system kills up to 99.997% of harmful contaminants and bacteria, including the very dangerous MRSA staph infection, viruses and mold spores.
Think about this… Most of us get up every morning, take a shower, put on clean clothes and start our day. At the end of the day, those same clothes end up in a hamper or washing machine whether or not we really “dirtied” them. Just the fact we wore them most of the day means a trip to the laundry room.

More food for thought… How many times a day do we or someone around us reach for the hand sanitizer that we keep in our car or on our desk or near the sink at home because we touched something we thought  was carrying germs and we didn't need that! We’ve all become very germ-conscious over the years haven’t we?
